I am not a big fan of insects generally but the fantastic
transformative sculptures which American artist Mike Libby
fashions using real beasty/bug specimens cogs and wheels
from old clocks and watches/pocket watches are indeed
beautiful and fascinating.

I have a friend who tells me that she sees pattern everywhere:
that when sitting in a cafe/park/cinema she obsessively seeks out repetition.
Carl Gombert is, I hazard, similarly slanted. In his own words:
...I am fascinated by pattern. I am interested in exploring the complexity
that arises from simple repetition and rotation, and the interplay
of positive and negative forms.These images are all hand stamped,
one-of-a-kind prints. I have a large collection of small stamps,
and I am constantly experimenting with new combinations...
